The Ontario Hockey Association hosted the annual awards presentation at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, Friday June 8th, 2007. This was the first time the OHA has held the awards at the HHOF and it was a special event for this year’s award winners and their guests.
OHA PLAYER OF THE YEAR
In each of the various leagues in our program, one player is nominated from his respective league.
Each nominee has been judged through the resumes submitted to an independent Selection Committee, as it relates to their on-ice and off ice activities. From the nominations the selection committee chooses a player from each category as the O.H.A Player of the Year.
The winner in each category will receive a replica of the O.H.A. Player of the Year Trophy, a $ 500.00 bursary towards their educational expenses, an invitation to attend the O.H.A High Performance Program in London Ontario and an O.H.A one-piece commemorative hockey stick.

B.J. MONRO MEMORIAL TROPHY
The Ontario Hockey Association holds in high regard, a special award given annually to a Top professional prospect in our program.
The award entitled the B J Monro Memorial Award was donated to the Association by the Monro family in memory and honour of their son B. J. who was a member of the Cobourg Cougars Hockey Club, and who was taken from us suddenly in a car accident during the l993/94 playoffs.
B.J. was a talented young man, who came to play every game. His commitment to his team and teammates earned him the respect of all those that knew him and played against him.
At the time of his death, B.J. was ranked as an underage in the second round of the OHL draft.
It is fitting, therefore, that the award is presented to an individual who falls within the same consideration each season.
The past winners have included Nathan Horton, of the Florida Panthers, and Mike Cammilleri now with the L.A Kings.
