| The Convenor for each group is a volunteer appointed by the OHA Board of Directors in compliance with OHA Regulation D4. OHA regulation D4 states: |
| The Board of Directors, when arranging teams into categories and groups shall appoint a Convenor for each group/league. Having due regard for nominations that may come from the teams in the group/league the Board of Directors has the final approval of the Convenor. |
| OHA regulation B48 states: |

It is the responsibility of the Board to appoint a Chairperson and a Convenor if necessary for each group. The Board of Directors shall also appoint a Chairman for each group/league. The Chairperson may either be an active or past member of the Board of Directors with the responsibility to provide a voice for each group/league at the directorate level.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
It is the Convenors responsibility to:

- Represent the Ontario Hockey Association at all Group (League) meetings and functions.
- To improve communication between the Group to the Ontario Hockey Association.
- To handle the administration of Group meetings and other business as required.
- To be knowledgeable of the Constitution, Regulations and Rules of Competition as set out in the Ontario Hockey Association Manual of Operations as well as the CHA playing rules.
- To refer matters, which require clarification (ie: player eligibility, regulations and CHA playing rules) to the OHA office, as they may pertain to Item #4.
- To administer to a group/league Constitution to include:
- Arrange a host centre for group/league meetings.
- Draw up and have the League schedule ratified.
- Coordinate the AllStar game.
- Arrange a host centre to hold the Annual Banquet.
- Coordinate the selection of League and individual trophy recipients.
- Conduct an evaluation meeting prior to the OHA Annual General Meeting.
- Sit on Ontario Hockey Association appeal tribunals as required.
