Bulldogs Back On Track With 2 Weekend Wins

 Sunday 16 November, 2008

The Goderich Sailors were in "The Dog House" Saturday night and were treated to a 7 to 2 loss. This victory keeps the Dogs in 1st place going into play next weekend.

Go Dogs Go!The "Bulldogs Fan of the Game" was Jake Cleary from Ajax and the winner of the Bulldogs History Question "Where Did the Bulldogs Finish in Regular Season Play Last Year" was Terelle Coe of Markdale with her correct answer of "1st Place". Jake won a Bulldogs Hat and $10.00 Gift Certificate from Kincardine Canadian Tire and Terelle won a $10.00 Gift Certificate from Kincardine Home Hardware.

Friday night in Hanover most would agree was not our best outing but was good enough to gain a 3 to 2 victory with two short handed goals. Hanover's loss combined with Mitchell's win dropped the Barons to 4th place. (Now tied for 3rd with their win Saturday) A loss on our part would have dropped us to 2nd place.Jeepers!

Two illegal & brutal hits by Hanover caused two injuries to our players and two Barons receiving Game Misconducts. The most exciting stage of the game was the last 5 minutes when the Dogs nursing a one goal lead ran into penalty problems and went two men down. Drew Pegrum was on his game and made impressive saves to seal the win.

The two wins this weekend were a must as the Walkerton Hawks keep pecking at our heals for 1st place. The Hawks had two wins Vs the Mt Forest Patriots this weekend & are looking for two more next weekend Vs the Goderich Sailors. Our task may be more difficult as we do battle with Hanover and Mitchell.

Go Dogs Go!

There is a good chance 1st place will come down to the Walkerton @ Kincardine battle Sunday 14 December @ 4:00 PM.

Mark that date on your calendar folks! Will be a tense one for sure! Go Dogs Go!
