Trevor Smith did well at the League Banquet, winning the Western Jr C MVP, Top Defenceman and 1st Team All Star. Not a bad way to end your Jr C Career, but Trevor added one more award. Smith was recently named OHA Jr C Player of the Year. Trevor will be heading to the Hockey Hall of Fame to accept his award.
On behalf of the Walkerton Hawks Organization, Congratulations Trevor Smith OHA Jr C Player of the Year
Walkerton took their Best of 7 Western Jr C FInals vs Hanover 4 games to 3. Walkerton won Game 7 with a big 4-2 win, which means Walkerton has won the Western Jr C League 3 consecutive years. And for the 3rd straight year, will face the Alliston Hornets in the OHA Quarter Finals. Last season Alliston lost in the OHA Finals and the year before that, Alliston was the Ontario Champions.
