Hawks Beat Dogs, NO OT Needed

The Walkerton Hawks have done it yet again.  The Hawks have now defeated the Bulldogs 3 times this season.  This time there was no OT needed as the Hawks beat the Dogs 3-1.  Walkerton seemed to want this game more than the Dogs did, controlling the play in the 1st period.  Neither team managed to score.  0-0 after 1.  Part way through the 2nd, Alex MacLeod threw the puck at the Hawks net and Blake Underwood tipped it out of the air.  1-0 Dogs.  Only 45 seconds later the Hawks tied the game up on a goal by Justin Wakewich.  And 50 seconds after that Wakewich deked the Dogs goalie to make it 2-1.  Nearing the end of the 2nd the Hawks went in on a 2 on 1 rush and Ryan Amyot managed to finish off the play slipping the puck in.  3-1 after 2.  Both teams were evenly matched in the 3rd.  The Hawks were protecting the lead and the Dogs were trying to solve Brock Hansell.  No scoring in the 3rd.  Hansell picks up his 7th win of the year making 26 saves.  George Grammenopoulos took the loss making 37 saves.  The Hawks are back in action net Friday November 14th at 8:30pm when the Mount Forest Patriots visit the Hawks Nest.

Hawks Down Dogs Again, Take OT To Do It

The Walkerton Hawks have extended their winning streak to 10 games with a 5-4 OT win over the Kincardine Bulldogs.  The Hawks have defeated the Bulldogs twice this year and both games have gone into OT.  These are Kincardine's only 2 defeats.  So they can boast they have yet to be beat in regulation.  Scoring for the Hawks were Drew Davidson, Kevin Quincey, Scott Amyot, Tanner Shlakat(2).  Scoring for the Dogs were Ben Larsen, Blake Underwood, Mike Rutherford and Dave Chessell.  Clayton Fritsch picked up the win making 32 saves.  Drew Pegrum took the loss making 37 saves.
