The Dudley Hewitt Cup is named after two pioneers of amateur hockey in both Ontario and Canada. It is a championship trophy & is conducted by the Canadian Jr. A Hockey League. The winner of this cup competes at the Royal Bank Cup.
George Dudley (1894-1960), born in Midland, Ontario, is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School, and was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1950 for his contribution to minor hockey.
William Hewitt (1875-1966), born in Cobourg, Ontario, moved to Toronto as a boy, and became a well-known reporter. He was a manager of a number of junior teams and was directly involved with the startup of Maple Leaf Gardens and was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1947.
