Scoring nine goals and 13 assists in just seven game has made Shawn Shewchuk of the Dundas Real McCoy's the perfect choice for the MLH Bauer Player of the Month. This 5'11, 205 lbs forward is a natural scorer who can not only put the puck in the net, but, he can make beautiful passes to team mates as well. The Mississauga native has enjoyed much success with the McCoy's this year and hopes to carry his good fortune well into the playoffs. Shewchuk's highlight game in January came on the 9th against the Orillia Tundras, he scored two goals and added three assists while his team went on to win by a score of 6-3.

Helping his Villanova Knights win seven of the eight games he played in, David Jenkins outstanding January month made him the perfect choice for the OHA Bauer Player of the Month award. Jenkins, a Ajax native is currently enjoying his first season with the Knights after playing two seasons with the Ajax Attack. This 6'0, 190 lbs goal tender has amazing reflexes and a natural ability to feel for the puck, the way all great goalies do. Jenkins was able to turn away 238 of the 259 shots he faced in January, including a shut out preformance on the 22nd against the Buffalo Jr. Sabres when he stopped all 32 shots he faced on route to a big 6-0 win for his Knights.

In his first season with the Thorold Blackhawks, Matt Abercrombie has made his presence felt in the dressing room and on the ice. Scoring 8 goals and 13 assists in 10 games has made Abercrombie the January OHA Golden Horseshoe Bauer Player of the Month. The Sarnia Native is enjoying his new team this season and is looking forward to a chance to shine in the playoffs. The 6'1. 184 lbs forward not only has great size but fantastic speed and puck control, a deadly combination to face. The soon to be 20-year-old had his most productive game on January 16th in Stoney Creek where he scored two goals and added three assists on route to a 6-1 for his Blackhawks over the Warriors.

Scoring 11 goals and adding three assists in 11 games makes Stratford Cullitons forward Brad McClure the Mid Western Conference Bauer Player of the Month for January. The Stratford native helped his Cullitons win five big games in January, with playoffs drawing closer every day, winning has become very important. The 5'10, 155 lbs speedy forward has a great ability to find the back of the net and the proof is in his season stats. Opposing coaches take note of this speedy forward, he is a game changer and when given the chance will shine.

Scoring an outstanding 15 goals and 14 assists in just nine games, DJ Turner becomes the January OHA Western Conference Bauer Player of the Month. This smooth skating forward has a natural ability to contribute points on any given night. Opposing coaches take note, this 20-year-old is coming on strong heading into the playoffs. Standing just 5'8 and weighing 165 lbs Turner has become a solid contributer on the LaSalle Vipers this season. The Windsor Natives highlight game came at the end of the month when he managed to score three goals and three assists on the 30th against the Lambton Shores Predators on route to a big 15-0 win.

Scoring six goals and notching home 11 assists in just 10 games has made Georgina Ice's assistant captain Scott Sedore the perfect choice for Januarys OHA Bauer Player of the Month. Sedore's ability to see the ice has helped him contribute on the game sheet almost every night. In his fourth year with the Ice, this 5'11, 170lbs forward has made his presence felt. The Sutton native currently ranks third in the Central Hockey Leagues overall scoring and shows no signes of letting up. Sedores highlight game in January came on the third in Port Perry where he scored a goal and three assists on route to a 6-5 win for his Ice.

A big game presence on the blue line, Adam Vandertoorn has become a staple player for the Port Hope Panthers this season. Scoring two goals and six assists in nine games has made Vandertoorn the perfect choice for the Empire B Jr. C Hockey League's Bauer Player of the Month in January. The 6'3, 200 lbs defenceman brings his best to the rink every night and it shows. He was named the team captain for the 2009/2010 season and leads his team both on and off the ice. The Brighton native had his January highlight game on the 8th against Campbellford when he scored a goal and got two assists on route to a 7-2 win for his Panthers

Helping his Wallaceburg Lakers win four of seven games throughout the month of January has made Tyler Lewis a great selection for the OHA Great Lakes Bauer Player of the Month award in January. Lewis scored an outstanding 11 goals and added two assists to lead his club in points thoughout the month. The 21-year-old from Carunna is currently in the middle of a playoff run that he hopes will end in celebrations all summer long. Standing 6'0 and weighing 220 lbs, Lewis has size and strength over many of his opponents and uses it to his advantage. His highlight game came on the 6th against the Blenhiem Blades, he scored four goals and added an assist on route to a 11-2 win for his Lakers.

Playing in his first season with the Dunnville Terriers, Jason Dear has become a staple player on the roster. In nine games this power forward has made the most of his time on the ice. Scoring seven goals and adding four assists was enough for Dear to become the OHA Niagara East Jr. C Bauer Player of the Month in January. Coaches take note, this young man has an outstanding ability to play both ways and his scoring tallent speaks for itself. Dear's highlight game in January came on the 29th against the Glanbrook Rangers, he scored two goals and two assits on route to a 8-6 win for his Terriers.

A natural scorer with an amazing ability to hit the back of the net, Brett McGuinnes has done everything he can to help his Goderich Sailors this season. Netting nine goals and two assists in just seven games has made McGuinnes the perfect choice for the OHA Western Jr. C Hockey League Bauer Player of the Month in January. This 5'8, 160 lbs forward relies heavily on his spead and edges to make his way around the opposition. The Stratford natives quick release has frustrated goalies all season long. His highlight game in January came on the 16th where he scored 3 goals on route to a tough 5-4 over time loss to the Mount Forest Patriots.
