WOW, what a ride last season was. It has been a very long time since we have seen crowds at the arena like we had last season. THANK YOU Fans, THANK YOU Sponsors, THANK YOU Volunteers and THANK YOU Parents from all of us in the Laker Organization. Without your continuous support, your team would not be here.

 

This year, your team will continue with Head Coach/GM, Mark Davis and his very knowledgeable and experienced staff, who without a doubt will bring all of us another successful hockey season.

 

We start this season with some new and hardworking people on the Executive, as well as some familiar faces from last year. Your Executive Committee continued to work through most of the summer to bring you another exciting season.

 

Many of last year’s players are returning for the 2007 – 2008 season. One major goal of our Organization is to promote player development and we are proud to report that we have released 3 young men to Junior “B” organizations and 1 young man to a Junior “A” team. Congratulations and good luck, Gentlemen, continue to make us proud.

 

To quote last years GM/Asst. Coach and a TRUE Laker, Matt Rabideau, “Last year as Lakers we proved to everyone in the community, and across the Great Lakes League, that we are a team and a family of heart and character, and when we played with grit and determination, nothing for the opposition ever came easy!!! It will be no different this year!!! UNFINISHED BUSINESS will be our new slogan!!!”

 

I want to personally invite all our fans, sponsors, volunteers and parents to attend and enjoy an exciting 2007/2008 Season.

To our Fans,

 

 Last year your Wallaceburg Lakers hit the ice with a mandate to “Restore the Roar”. I think everyone will agree that under the guidance of Coach Davis and his incredibly dedicated Staff, the players did just that. After a very busy summer, a new season is upon us and your Team has adopted “Unfinished Business” as their slogan. This might sound a little presumptuous considering your Lakers will once again be one of the youngest teams in the Great Lakes Jr.C League, but I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

 

You might have noticed that I used the word “your” a few times already. Without our fans coming to cheer the boys on every home game, and many away games also, our sponsors for generously supporting our Operations financially, none of this would be possible. This truly is YOUR Team!

 

 So stand up and cheer, clap your hands, make some noise! You are the Wallaceburg Lakers 7th player on the ice. With your help we will once again have a successful season and collectively, as a Team and a Community, settle some “Unfinished Business”.
