Central C Player of the Month
Player of the Month - December
Jody Fitzgerald - Lakefield Chiefs
Jody played his Minor hockey with the Peterbrough Nationals organization. He is in his third season with the Lakefield Chiefs Junior Hockey Club.
Jody is described as a very dedicated player who gives his best each night. He is a leader on and off the ice. Jody is a very dependable player and is very easy to coach.
For most of the season Jody has been leading his team and the Central League in scoring. In December Jody showed his gift as a playmaker. In 7 games he had 1 goal and contributed 8 assists for 9 points. His linemate and Novembers player of the month Nick Kidd moved into the goal lead for the Central League thanks to some great passes from Jody.
Jody continues to lead the Central League in scoring after 25 games. In those games Jody has 12 goals adding 27 assists for 39 points. Of those 12 goals 3 are game winners. His playmaking shines on the powerplay were Jody has contributed 13 assist along with 4 powerplay goals.
The OHA and the Central Ontario Jr. C. Hockey League would like to congratulate Jody. Jody will be presented with the Player of the Month trophy at a upcoming game in Lakefield.
Player of the Month - November
Nick Kidd - Lakefield Chiefs
Nick played his Minor hockey in Lakefield where he resides. Nick is in his third season with his hometown Lakefield Chiefs Junior Hockey Club.
Even thou Nick is small in stature he playes with a big heart. He is described as a coaches dream. Nick has matured into an excellent two way hockey player.
In the 10 games Nick played in November he scored 11 goals and 8 assist for 19 pts. Nick recently had a 11 game scoring streak volting him into second place in the League scoring race. The OHA and the Central Ontario Jr. C. Hockey League would like to congratulate Nick. Nick will be presented with the Player of the Month trophy at a upcoming game in Lakefield.October - OHA Player of the Month
Player of the Month - October
Jim Sarjeant - Georgina Ice
The OHA and the Central Jr. C Hockey League would like congratulate goaltender Jim Sarjeant of the Georgina Ice, winner of the OHA Player of the Month for October.
Jim is a 6'0" 175 lb. goaltender who played minor hockey at the AAA level with the York - Simcoe Express. This is his rookie year in the Central Ontario Jr. C Hockey League.
Jimmy's 5-0-1 record with a 2.49 GAA has been a big factor in Georgina's success this season. These are impressive numbers for a first year goaltender at the Junior level. At this point in the season Jim leads the League with the lowest GAA. As a 17 yr. old, this is an outstanding accomplishment. Again congratulations Jim.
