Gerry Hillier Named Coach of the Year and Shayne Ross Name to 2^nd Team All Stars 

The OHA Western Junior C Awards were announced this weekend, in lieu of what would have been the league’s season ending banquet... which was postponed due to inclement winter weather.

Despite a challenging season, two members of the Mount Forest Patriots received league awards. Team Captain Shayne Ross was name to the league’s all-season All Star 2^nd Team and Head Coach & General Manager Gerry Hillier was named Coach of the Year, for the second straight year!

Outstanding All Star Effort Leads to Special Honours

Mount Forest Patriots scoring leader Josh Higginson received a special award during OHL Western Jr. C All Star game early last month.

While honouring Patriots fans with a strong performance at the league's all star game, Josh was presented with a full scholarship to attend the 3-day OHL High Performance camp this summer in London, ON.

Mount Forest Patriots defenseman Luc Lang will be honoured this Saturday night, as the team's most recent member to be presented a league award. 

Luc will be receiving one of the OHA Western Jr. C Bursary awards.

"I was so impressed with his application. It's a two sided form to fill out and he sent me 18 pages in total," said Patriots Secretary Cherie Noble.  "He worked so hard for this. I'm so happy the league chose him as one of the recipients."

Patriots fans won't wan't to miss this Saturday's playoff game against the Hanover Barons, as Luc will be joined by team captain (and Western league 2nd Team All Star) Shayne Ross and team Head Coach & GM (and Western league Coach of the Year) Gerry Hillier, as they are also presented their league awards.
