  Lakefield’s 1st game of the finals ended in a loss to The Georgina Ice during a power play on home ice in over-time 4 – 5. Jody Fitzgerald earned an assist on our 1st goal scored by Corey MacDonell. Jody Fitzgerald and Will Jones earned assists on Nick Kidd’s power play goal in the 2nd period. Craig Burns and Jordan Bedwell assisted Will Jones score the 2nd game of the period. Nick Kidd assisted by Josh Hunt and Jody Fitzgerald scored our final goal in the 3rd period.

Nick Hearn, Don Sanderson, Kevin Stewart, Brandon Gouveia and Joel Hanley scored for The Ice and assists were awarded to Don Sanderson, Scott Sedore, Chris Colwill and Tyler Gouveia.

The Flannigan’s Butcher Shop player of the game was Nick Kidd. Jerry Tucker was the winner of the hand crocheted afghan made by Lenna Smith. Corey Vanhooser won the Lakefield Lanes voucher and Irene Jones won the AEL (formerly Crazy Carol’s) car wash.

The Lakefield Chief’s Jr. Hockey Club travelled to Keswick for our 2nd game of the finals. We lost to The Ice by a score of 1 – 4. Jody Fitzgerald assisted by Josh Hunt scored Lakefield’s lone goal in the 2nd period.

Scoring for The Ice were Scott Sime, Scott Sedore and Kevin Stewart (2). Vince Migliano, Brandon Gouveia, Andy Lamoureux (2), Scott Sedore (2) and Nick Hearn earned the assists.
