The schedule for the 2008 Sutherland Cup Championship between the Tecumseh Chiefs and Elmira Sugar Kings has been released.

The best-of-seven series begins Friday in Tecumseh. Game time is 7:00pm.

The winner of the series will receive the Sutherland Cup, emblematic of junior 'B' hockey supremacy among the 26 teams in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League.

Tecumseh will have home-ice advantage in the series by virtue of their first-place finish in the double-robin series involving the the three GOJHL conference champions. The Chiefs, champions of the Western conference (WOHL), finished with a 3-1 record. Elmira, Midwestern conference champions, finished second in the round-robin with a 2-2 record. The Golden Horseshoe champion Thorold Blackhawks finished third with a 1-3 record and were eliminated from Sutherland Cup competition.

The Chiefs and Sugar Kings split their two meetings in the round-robin, with each team winning at home. The Chiefs won 6-2 in Tecumseh while the Sugar Kings won a 6-5 decision in Elmira.
